In a short time, the Connecticut Hall of Change has gained remarkable traction across the state. Community partners, agencies, and organizations have rallied behind the mission, recognizing the impact of uplifting leaders who embody real transformation.

Our events bring communities together to honor transformation, leadership, and second chances. From the annual Great 8 Induction Ceremony to statewide gatherings and partner collaborations, each event highlights the powerful work happening across Connecticut. Join us as we celebrate the people and stories shaping a stronger, more hopeful future.

The Great 8 is an annual recognition of eight formerly incarcerated leaders who have made a meaningful impact in Connecticut. Each honoree represents growth, service, and a commitment to strengthening the communities they call home.

Lend your voice to the movement. By advocating with us, you help promote second chances, expand support systems, and elevate leaders who are making a real difference in Connecticut. Your support strengthens our mission, raises awareness, and helps ensure that stories of transformation are seen and valued statewide.

Our Goal
Connecticut Hall of Change’s goal is to create a public forum that celebrates the growth and accomplishments of Justice-Involved Individuals through the creation of the first ever of its kind, The Connecticut Hall of Change. Upon returning home many of these individuals embarked on a restorative quest of redemption as they sought to improve the very neighborhoods they once violated. As a result, they have become a living testimony to the enduring human spirit of both forgiveness and hope.
Why Our Work Matters
The Connecticut Hall of Change brings visibility to stories that are often overlooked. By recognizing individuals who have rebuilt their lives and strengthened their communities, the program helps reduce stigma, encourages restorative pathways, and inspires others returning home. These stories show that transformation is possible and that second chances can create real, lasting change across Connecticut.

Reducing Recidivisum through Restorative Justice: Hang Time's Bold Strategy for Empowering Justice-Impacted Individuals and Driving Sustainable Change
Charlie Grady’s new book, Reducing Recidivism through Restorative Justice: Hang Time’s Bold Strategy for Empowering Justice-Impacted Individuals and Driving Sustainable Change, offers a deeply human look at transforming re-entry and community support. Drawing on the success of Hang Time, a grassroots program in Connecticut, the book illustrates how restorative justice principles can reduce violence and recidivism by fostering safe spaces, shared experiences, and community engagement. Through participant stories and real world examples, Charlie and co-author Dr. Vesna Markovic provide a practical framework for organizations, policy makers, and community leaders seeking more effective, dignity-centered approaches to justice reform. This volume highlights how empathy, connection, and community resources can change lives and strengthen communities long after incarceration.
